A. Multiplying by 1001 is similar to Multiplying by 101. To multiply a 3 digit number by 1001 you simply write the number down twice. To multiply a 2 digit number you write down the number twice with a 0 in the middle.
Ex [1] 123 x 1001 = 123123.
Ex [2] 72 x 1001 = 72072.
B. You can also multiply variations of 1001 like 2002, 1002, 3002, etc. by using the following example:
Ex [1] 132 x 2003 =_________.
a) Multiply 2 x 132 and write it down or 264.
b) Multiply 3 x 132 and write it down or 396.
c) The answer is 264396.
